Rockabilly: Wanda Jackson

Elvis and The Blue Moon Boys toured the country circuit, making their way from the bottom of the bill to top – until Elvis became his own touring show.

Wanda Jackson was the Queen of Rockbilly and she and Elvis toured together.

 

Wanda played with Ricky Nelson and Gene Vincent.

Wanda and Elvis even recorded a few of the same songs.

Eventually, rockabilly was replaced with the more commerical and Philly wave and Jackson retreated to Christian and country & western. She had a revival on the nostalgia circuit.
