Cohan wrote it, for three different acts – the American Quartet, Nora Bayes, and the Peerless Quartet – Caruso’s recording of the song, with choruses in English and French, also went to #1, and stayed there for three weeks.

Alan Freed debuts his Moondog Rock ‘n’ Roll House Party on WJW radio in Cleveland, where he plays mostly R&B tunes. The broadcast ran from 11:15 PM until 2 AM and enjoyed a loyal following by Freed’s fans who called themselves Moondoggers.
Aat M. B. Parker Company, Elvis had a temporary job as an assembler. He worked there until the job ran out at the end of the month, making 90-cents an hour or $36.00 a week.

Although the music world was being dominated by Rock and Roll, crooner Dean Martin’s version of a tune written in 1947, “Everybody Loves Somebody”, cracked the Billboard Top 40 on its way to number one. This would be Dino’s first Top 40 hit since 1958 and ultimately replaced “That’s Amore” as his signature song.
Elvis Presley’s single “Kissin’ Cousin’s” hit #10 in the U.K. On March 27, 1992, the single “Kissin’ Cousins / It Hurts Me” was certified Gold by RIAA for selling in over 500,000 copies.

Elvis Presley’s “The Wonder of You” hit #1 in the U.K. In the United States, both songs charted at #9 together in the spring of 1970; also reached number 37 on the US Country Singles chart, and number one on the easy listening chart.
“The Wonder of You” was one of his most successful records in the UK ever, topping the UK Singles Chart for six weeks in the summer of that year. It also stayed at number one in the Irish Charts for three weeks that same year. This was the 59th Top 40 hit of his career.
“The Wonder of You” was one of about thirty-five songs Elvis would regularly perform at concerts.
According to the original performer, Ray Peterson, “He [Elvis] asked me if I would mind if he recorded ‘The Wonder of You.’ I said, ‘You don’t have to ask permission; you’re Elvis Presley.’ He said, ‘Yes, I do. You’re Ray Peterson.'”
