Elvis signed an amended one-year agreement with Bob Neal from which Neal would receive a 15 percent management fee.
Elvis renegotiates his contract with Colonel Tom Parker. From this point on, Parker will receive one-quarter of all Elvis’ earnings.

Elvis performed at the Fox Theatre, Atlanta, Georgia at.4.30, 7,18 and 10.06 p.m. for the second day. He was paid $1,831.54, what was 50% of the net proceeds, for the 2-day engagement.

A blurb in the March 15th edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution read:
Teen-Agers Agog At Presley Show
– Teen-aged Atlantans turned out en masse to applaud Elvis Presley, semihillbilly singing sensation, who appeared on stage at the Fox Theater during matinee and evening shows Wednesday.  Turnaway throngs, predominantly “rock and roll” fans, are expected again Thursday, the final day here for the RCA-Victor recording artist.”

Elvis arrived in Nashville for a session at RCA’s Studio B. Priscilla flew to California to supervise the redecorating of the new house. Everybody hoped for the same success of the previous year, but there were problems from the start. Finally Elvis called the session off, at 1.30 a.m. because of discomfort in his eye.

Elvis Presley’s album “Promised Land” hit it’s top position of #47 on the Billboard Top 200 , reached 1 in Billboard’s Top Country LPs chart and #1 in the Country Cashbox albums chart. In the UK the album reached #21.

Relatives of Buddy Holly filed a suit against MCA Records for allegedly hoarding royalty payments, forging contracts and illegally producing albums without the consent of the family.
In Australia, an interview with Lisa Marie Presley was broadcast in which she said that she had seen things she “couldn’t do anything about” during her marriage to Michael Jackson. She clarified her remarks two days later and included that she had never seen Jackson engage in inappropriate behavior with kids.
March 15, 2013…The Beach Boys, the Beatles, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Nat “King” Cole, Perry Como, Bobby Darin, Neil Diamond, Brenda Lee, Johnny Mathis, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Vinton and Stevie Wonder were elected to be the first class of inductees into America’s Pop Music Hall of Fame.
