Elvis Presley went backstage at The Ellis Auditorium in Memphis on the night of March 9, 1962 to say hello to some of his friends in the Holiday on Ice cast, and skating star Dorothy Goos promptly put him to work holding yarn. Elvis had visited Holiday on Ice people here during their last three annual visits.

Elvis reported to MGM for preproduction on Harum Scarum. After wardrobe tests Elvis recorded vocal tracks for the instrumental backups that were made in Nashville.

Spinout

In the middle of the night Elvis fell in the Bathroom at Rocca Place. The Colonel arrived and a doctor was called, whom came back the other day with a portable X-ray machine.
Elvis had no fractures, but the event did cause another delay in the start of production for Clambake. The whole thing provided the Colonel with a reason to reprimand the entire group and Larry Geller most of all.
Parker forced Elvis to burn his various religious books and was certainly part of the shift of Elvis Presley’s image from a wild playboy to a married man.
