RCA was horrified when their rock n roll star wanted to do a Christmas album.
Neal Matthews, Gordon Stoker, Millie Kirkham, Elvis, Hoyt Hawkins and Ray Walker (The Jordanaires)
Elvis did not like Blue Christmas, so he told Millie to make silly with the background vocals and he made fun of himself. Elvis concentrated.
RCA loved it and Elvis’ Christmas album sold a million copies between 1957 and 1965, it was re-issued three times – since then, it’s been divided over cheapie compilations, along with tracks from the 1970s Wonderful World of Christmas.
